Glenda was such a special part of our lives that we’d like to share a piece of her life with you. She was an avid car enthusiast. Beginning in her teens, she was crazy about cars! Growing up in the 1950’s and 60’s, during the Golden Age of American automobiles, she was immersed in car culture, listening to car tunes by The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean.
In 1966, she and Linda (her twin sister) ordered a ‘66 Mustang GT from Bud Watson. The car was driven everyday until 1983 when they decided to start showing the vehicle in area car shows. Starting then, Glenda and Linda became fixtures at local and regional shows, winning over 200 trophies.
In 2005, Glenda was diagnosed with Stage Four Lymphoma and Uterine Cancer. She was determined that the diagnosis was not going to slow or get her down. She did not miss one car show that summer.
She valiantly fought the disease for three years until God called her home on December 30, 2007. A devoted mother, caring sister, and wonderful daughter, Glenda is missed terribly.
